Fruadsters Lure 2 Doctors on pretext of huge returns through Investment; Lose Rs 3.5 crore

Meerut: Lured by promises of high returns on small investments, two Meerut doctors ended up losing a staggering amount of over Rs 3.5 crore after investing in a fraudulent English company allegedly involved in film production and promotion that claimed to be operational since 1974.
Among the two doctors, one of them, identified as Suraksha Bansal lost Rs 3.8 crore, while the other doctor, Atul Gupta, lost Rs 49.17 lakh. Both doctors filed complaints with the police, submitting evidence of the fraudulent transactions.

As per the ETV Bharat news report, the supposed owners of the company RPC are a couple (Husband Atul Saxena and Wife Rachna Verma) along with their daughters, who allegedly convinced the doctors to invest in the company with the promise of returning the money with a higher value than the original amount. However, the investment turned out to be a scam, leaving the doctors in distress.
The incident took place after the Saxena family alleged to the doctors that their English company, RPC, had been working continuously in the field of film production and promotion since 1974. They claimed that the company started working in India after registration. It accepts security deposits from people for one year and returns a huge amount as incentives for watching and submitting some movie clips every day.
Convinced by their scheme, the doctors invested in the company and later realised that they had been scammed. Now, the police have registered a case based on their complaints, and an investigation is underway.
Speaking to the Daily, Shilesh Kumar, in-charge of Medical Police Station, said, "Both the doctors had given a fraud complaint. On the orders of higher officials, a case of fraud has been registered against Atul Saxena, resident of Saraswati Vihar Rohta Road, his wife Rachna Verma and daughters."
Further, City SP Ayush Vikram Singh said, "A complaint was made to the senior superintendent of police by both doctors. The Medical Police Station has filed a fraud report against the accused on the instruction of the SSP. The matter is being taken seriously, and an investigation is being carried out."
