He said there are district-level and taluka-level committees to detect bogus doctors. Those committee members will be instructed to work efficiently by holding regular meetings.
As per the present law, the bogus doctor found in this case gets away with the benefit of the provision of the law.
"Therefore, the minister also informed that there is a strong provision in the law to give strict punishment to such bogus doctors," said Mr Mahajan.
"Besides, we have decided to establish a medical college and hospital in the district. So trained doctors will be available in the near future" he added.
At the same time, full-time doctors will be present at Rural Health Centers and Primary Health Centers in rural areas, instructions will also be given in this regard.
He also informed that action has been taken against four bogus doctors in Udgir taluka of Latur district, added Mr Mahajan.
Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported that in order to ensure that all the allopathic doctors practicing in Odisha have proper and relevant qualifications, the State High Court had directed the State Government to devise a comprehensive plan for undertaking a survey in this regard.
The HC bench of Chief Justice Dr S. Muralidhar and Justice S.K. Panigrahi had further clarified in the order that the concerned survey should be concluded preferably within a period of six months.
