Gujarat: Fake doctor arrested for practising without valid medical degree

Woman Doctor Trapped in Two-Year Blackmail Ordeal After Alleged Assault in Bareilly Gym
Gujarat- A fake doctor has been arrested in Vankadiya village of Halol taluka in Gujarat's Panchmahal district, for allegedly practising medicine without a valid license or recognised medical qualification.
The accused, a 58-year-old native of West Bengal, was reportedly running a clinic from a roadside house in the village and administering allopathic medicines and injections to villagers.
The matter came to light after the SOG Godhra team received specific information. Acting on the tip-off, a joint team comprising Dr Jignesh Pargi, Medical Officer at the Kathola PHC, and Pharmacist Drishtiben Rathwa inspected the clinic.
During the inspection, officials discovered that the accused possessed neither a degree nor a license to practice medicine. The police also recovered various medicines and medical supplies from the clinic, including antibiotic tablets, creams, injections, vaccines, syringes, a blood pressure monitor, and a glucometer. The total value of the seized items has been estimated at ₹9,665, according to a report in GujaratSamachar.
Accordingly, the Pavagadh police have registered a case against the accused under various sections of the Gujarat Medical Practitioners Act. Currently, further investigation is underway.
The police have launched a drive to nab bogus doctors in Panchmahal, and the arrests have been made under this drive.
The police stated that they have started a drive to nab them after receiving complaints regarding bogus doctors in several areas.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that in a shocking case of alleged medical negligence, a 30-year-old woman and her newborn died during a home delivery reportedly conducted by an unlicensed practitioner. The case has once again exposed the serious risks posed by quacks operating in rural regions. The incident occurred in the Kamri police station area, where the accused was reportedly operating without any formal medical qualification or authorization.
