Illegal abortion of minor: Delhi doctor among 4 arrested
New Delhi: A female doctor has been arrested after she allegedly performed an illegal abortion on a 14-year-old minor girl, who had been sexually assaulted by a man. Police have also arrested the man along with two others for abetment of the crime.
The accused has been identified as Dharmender, alias Raj. The other two men are the accused friends, a 35-year-old Manish Kumar and a 44-year-old Dilip Kumar Singh. The doctor, Babita Devi aged 35, has a clinic named Aditi Clinic where the illegal abortion took place.
Raj met the victim, a class X student, and became friends after exchanging their phone numbers. Later the girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by the accused and got pregnant. She then informed the accused about the pregnancy, after which he confided in his parents and sought abortion services from the clinic. He also instructed her not to tell anyone.
