The complainant wrote a letter to the Principal of GMC Jammu, dated 9th July where she requested to be shifted and demanded strict action against the accused doctor so that other students don't go through the same harassment.
In the letter as accessed by the State Times, the medico alleged that she is unable to perform her duties comfortably due to the mental harassment caused by Dr Kumar. She stated that the doctor used abusive and harsh language against her in front of patients and attendants which has been causing her immense mental agony.
She further stated, "Due to such circumstances I am feeling insecure and suffocated and not able to work efficiently. It is, therefore, requested that I may kindly be allotted some other guide and my ward/unit may kindly be changed, so as to enable me to perform my duty properly and efficiently. It is requested to take strict action against the concerned so that no other student faces the same."
Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported a similar incident where a resident doctor accused the head of the ENT Department of BJ Medical College of mental harassment as the latter allegedly threatened to terminate the medico's residency when he turned down to fulfil the demand for medical equipment. A video had gone viral which showed the ENT resident doctor accusing the head.
