Kerala: Quack arrested for running haemorrhoid clinic for 25 years
Kunnamkulam: Deceiving the residents by offering treatment for haemorrhoids and fistulas for 25 years, a quack from Kunnamkulam in the Thrissur District of Kerala has been arrested for allegedly running a clinic without having a valid medical degree.
The accused was found treating diseases such as haemorrhoids and fistulas at his clinic under the name 'Roshni Clinic' in Kunnamkulam in the Thrissur District.
According to the police, the fake doctor operated his clinic at a rented house in Parembadam where he provided bogus treatment by giving herbs and some other medicines to those who came for treatment. He looked after the patients without having a doctor's degree.

The police team led by Principal Sub-Inspector Jeeshil arrested the accused, a native of Assam based on a tip-off about a person providing fake treatment for 25 years as reported by the Asianet.
As per the Kerala Kaumudi news report, after receiving a tip-off, the police team inspected the clinic, found the fake doctor and arrested him under relevant sections of IPC. Following his arrest, the police seized many documents and materials used by the quack for the treatment. Further, the accused was produced before the court and remanded.
A case has been registered and an investigation is underway.
Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported about a concerning case of quackery where a former receptionist at a Redefine Hair Transplant and Plastic Surgery Center in Gachibowli allegedly fooled several people for the past two years by pretending to be a hair transplant and skin doctor. Operating his scam under the nose of the government, the accused managed to offer hair transplants and lipoma treatment to people under false pretences. He even dispensed medicines for different ailments without a valid medical degree.
