Kerala: Three students arrested for assaulting doctor
Kozhikode: During a medical check-up at a private hospital's casualty ward, three students allegedly manhandled a doctor for misbehaving with a girl student. The trio was later arrested in this regard.
The accused have been identified as 24-year-old P.V. Mohammed Muzamil, 20-year-old T. Anshad, and 22-year-old K.P. Mohammed Basheer.
The incident occurred on Friday when a girl went to the hospital's casualty ward for her medical checkup with three other students. As per their claims, the doctor allegedly misbehaved with her, which angered the other students, and they decided to take the matter into their hands. The doctor was brutally thrashed and sustained a severe ear injury. He was taken to the Kozhikode Medical College Hospital for treatment.

In response, the doctor and the Indian Medical Association (IMA) filed a case at the Nadakkavu police station. After the police registered the case, the three students were arrested on Saturday. They are currently under judicial custody. However, it was revealed that more people could be part of the incident, so the police registered the case against other suspects, TH reports
Meanwhile, the girl who was mistreated also registered a case against the doctor at the Nadakkavu police station. The doctor was booked under Section 354 (attempt or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the Indian Penal Code by the police.
