Punjab Govt appoints 8 Medical Officers at Aam Aadmi Clinics in Ferozepur
Ferozepur: Following the resignation of medical officers from their positions at the Aam Aadmi Clinics in Ferozepur over the years, the state government has appointed 8 new medical officers for the clinics.
Recently, appointment letters were handed over to the newly appointed medical officers as part of the commitment to provide better health services in the state. There are 28 mohalla clinics in Ferozpur. With this appointment, all the clinics will have doctors now.
In 2022, Punjab Health Minister Chetan Singh Jouramajra said that the state will have 109 mohalla clinics and each mohalla clinic will have one medical officer, pharmacist, clinic assistant and helping staff.

Medical Dialogues in 2022 reported that after the opening of the Aam Aadmi Mohalla clinics launched by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on August 15, doctors started to resign from the clinics citing various reasons.
This time, the government recruited new medical officers. The newly recruited doctors were provided with appointment letters after the recruitment process was completed by Dr Sushma Thakkar and District Immunization Officer Dr Meenakshi Abrol. According to Civil Surgeon, Dr Rajwinder Kaur, they were given training to ensure the smooth operation of Aam Aadmi Clinics.
Superintendent Paramveer Monga, and Vikas Kalza Personal Assistant, DPM were also present during the handover of the appointment letters.
Speaking to Babushashi, Assistant Civil Surgeon Dr Sushma Thakkar said, "The appointment of these doctors would greatly benefit the common people. The Punjab government has taken this initiative to increase the number of health facilities in Aam Aadmi Clinics. Eligible candidates were selected by the interview panel as per the rules. The appointment of these doctors will prove to be a milestone in health facilities."
She further advised the newly appointed doctors to work honestly and in the medical profession, a gentle attitude towards patients should be adopted and inspiration should be given to serve the people as much as possible.
