Rajasthan Doctors urge Govt to expedite Medical Officer Appointments

Doctors
Jaipur: Thousands of doctors who cleared the 2024 Medical Officer recruitment exam conducted by RUHS are still awaiting document verification and appointment orders - a delay that has sparked serious concern among the medical fraternity in Rajasthan.
In this regard, on June 1, a delegation from the United Doctors Front (UDF), Rajasthan, led by State General Secretary Dr. Vikas Milki, met with the Honourable Health Minister Shri Gajendra Singh Khimsar and officials from RUHS to demand immediate action. The delegation firmly placed the demand to begin document verification without any further delay and to expedite the final recruitment.
The meeting comes after weeks of uncertainty faced by candidates who cleared the exam held on April 27, 2025, and received their scorecards on May 14, 2025.
According to the UDF, despite being fully prepared and willing to serve in the most challenging and remote areas of the state, the selected doctors have received no official timeline or update on the next steps. The lack of communication and continued delay have left them frustrated and anxious.

Further, the association, in a letter submitted to the Health Department on June 1, urged that the selected candidates be assigned to hospitals facing a shortage of medical staff, in order to strengthen and improve public healthcare services.
Expressing deep concern over the issue, Dr. Bharat Pareek, President of UDF Rajasthan, told Medical Dialogues, "As the President of UDF, Raj, I must express our deep concern regarding the prolonged delay in the recruitment and posting process of selected Medical Officers. It is both disheartening and frustrating for thousands of qualified doctors who have successfully cleared the examination held on 27th April 2025, and whose scorecards were released on 14th May 2025, to still be awaiting document verification and appointment orders.
As for the reasons behind the delay, while we do not wish to speculate, it appears to be a result of administrative inertia and lack of inter-departmental coordination. There is no official communication or timeline provided by the concerned authorities, which only adds to the anxiety among candidates. We believe that the timely recruitment of medical professionals is not just about employment — it directly impacts the state’s healthcare delivery, especially in rural and tribal belts where medical officers are urgently needed."
Further, he added, "We respectfully urge the Honourable Health Minister and RUHS officials to expedite the document verification process and release the full posting list at the earliest, in the interest of both the doctors and the people of Rajasthan. We are encouraged to share that the Honourable Minister gave his full attention to the matter and assured us that the process will be taken forward at the earliest. UDF will continue to monitor the progress and stand united with all the affected doctors until the recruitment process is completed in totality."
Medical Dialogues few days ago, reported that doctors in Rajasthan have urged the Rajasthan University of Health Sciences (RUHS) to release the combined merit list of the Medical Officer Recruitment Exam 2024. The doctors stated that although the written exam results have been announced, the combined merit list, which includes the ranks and roll numbers of all candidates, has not yet been made public. This has created confusion among many candidates.
The letter, signed by several senior members of the United Doctors Front (UDF), Rajasthan, emphasised that the entire recruitment process was smooth and transparent, but the absence of the merit list raised unnecessary doubts. They argued that releasing the merit list would bring clarity to the candidates.
