Stabbed, Set on Fire? 25-year-old Doctor preparing for FMGE dies, Police register murder case

Hisar: In a shocking and tragic incident, an Alwar-based 25-year-old Foreign Medical Graduate died with severe burn injuries. While it is still unclear how the doctor got the injuries, the Rajasthan police have registered a murder case against a man from Rewari.

The doctor, who completed her medical degree from the Philippines and was preparing for the Foreign Medical Graduates Examination (FMGE), was supposed to be in Delhi for her education. However, she was mysteriously found in Haryana's Hisar with severe burn injuries.

After her mother was informed, Dr Bhawana Yadav, who hails from Alwar district, was taken to Jaipur, where she died during treatment on Thursday. The late doctor's mother has filed a zero FIR in Jaipur and alleged that her daughter was first stabbed and then set on fire, TOI has reported.

The Zero FIR has been forwarded to the Hisar Civil Lines police station for further investigation. However, Inspector Kavita, in charge of the Hisar Civil Lines police station, informed TOI that the FIR had not yet been received.

As per the latest media report by the Times of India, in the complaint, the late doctor's mother, Gayatri Yadav, informed that her daughter completed MBBS from the Philippines in 2023 and was preparing for the FMGE examination through DEMS in Delhi for her postgraduate students. She was reportedly attending online classes and travelling to Delhi weekly for tests. On April 21, she allegedly went to Delhi for a test.

However, the complainant claimed that on April 24, a man named Udesh Yadav called to inform her that the doctor had suffered burn injuries and was admitted to Soni Hospital in Hisar. After a while, a video call from the hospital revealed the critical condition in which the patient was suffering. Getting the news, the complainant rushed to Hisar. Later, she claimed that the hospital administration did not clarify where her daughter was found or what circumstances resulted in her condition.

Since the patient's condition was serious, she was later shifted to SMS Hospital in Jaipur, where she succumbed to her burn injuries on the night of April 24.

In her complaint, the late doctor's mother claimed that during treatment, it was observed that Bhawana's face, abdomen and legs up to the knees were badly burnt even though her hair and back remained untouched. She also alleged that there were sharp weapon injury marks on her abdomen. Claiming that her daughter was murdered rather than suffered an accident, Bhawana's mother alleged that her daughter was first stabbed and then set on fire. Further, the complainant has claimed that the late doctor's laptop, mobile phone, and other important documents were missing.

TOI has reported that the late doctor was staying in Delhi with her younger sister, who is preparing for the UPSC examination in Delhi. Reportedly, on April 21 and 22, the medico stayed with her sister and appeared for her exams. Consequently, on April 23, she informed her mother via a phone call that she would return home on the morning of April 24. However, she didn't arrive.
