Telangana Medical Council files cases against 11 quacks in Nizamabad

According to officials, the individuals who were operating clinics and first-aid centres in different parts of the district were found to be allegedly practising medicine without possessing valid medical qualifications.

Medical Dialogues recently reported that, in a shocking incident, a man allegedly working as a doctor in the Critical Care Department of a private hospital in Siddipet was exposed by the Telangana Medical Council (TGMC) during an inspection for reportedly practising medicine without recognised qualifications.

The list of facilities that came under the radar includes Sri Raja First Aid Centre, Kasab, HUDA First Aid Clinic at Mujahid Nagar, Chakravarthy Dawakhana at Weekly Bazaar, and Sucharitha Clinic at Nyalkal Road. Some other facilities where the owner was found running a facility without valid medical documents include Swathi First Aid Clinic at Varni Road, Sri Shiva Sai Clinic at Nyalkal Road, Chandana First Aid Centre, Sandhya Medical at RR Chowrastha, Uppu Balraj First Aid Centre, and Rajarajeshwara Clinic, reports the Siasat.

Telangana Medical Council has been actively trying to nab such quacks to ensure that no quacks can run facilities in the area. TGMC officials recently conducted a surprise inspection at a private hospital in Shivaji Nagar, Siddipet, following confidential information received by the Council. Officials said the accused had allegedly been working in the hospital’s Critical Care Department for nearly a year, using forged medical certificates.

Previously, the Telangana Medical Council (TGMC) issued show-cause notices to several doctors working at private hospitals in Mancherial town for allegedly practising beyond their educational qualifications, in violation of the ethics prescribed under the National Medical Council (NMC) and Telangana Medical Council Acts.
