Tripura medical fraternity mourns death of paediatrician Dr Niharranjan Das

Agartala: The medical fraternity in Tripura is mourning the death of renowned paediatrician Dr Niharranjan Das, who passed away following a brief battle with cancer. His demise has left colleagues, patients, and their families saddened.

According to the news reports, Dr Das was remembered by members of the medical community as a soft-spoken, gentle, and compassionate physician who remained deeply committed to the well-being of his patients.

Dr Niharranjan Das completed his MBBS from RIMS before pursuing an MD in Paediatrics. Over the course of his career, he earned the respect and affection of colleagues, patients and their families for his humane approach, calm demeanour and dedication to the treatment and care of children.

According to Tripura Info, Dr Das was diagnosed with cancer in July this year. The disease reportedly progressed rapidly despite the treatment and medical care that followed. His death within a short period after the diagnosis has come as a shock to those who knew him.

Colleagues remembered Dr Das as a doctor who combined professional dedication with kindness and empathy. His gentle manner and willingness to listen made him a trusted and respected physician among patients and their families.

Members of the medical fraternity in Tripura expressed their condolences to the bereaved family and remembered Dr Das for his contribution to paediatric care and his compassionate approach towards patients.

Medical Dialogues had previously reported that renowned cardiologist, Padma Shri awardee, and KIMS Healthcare founder and vice-chairman Dr G Vijayaraghavan passed away on Sunday at the age of 84. He was undergoing treatment for age-related ailments, relatives said. A pioneer in cardiology and echocardiography, Dr Vijayaraghavan was credited with establishing a two-dimensional echocardiography laboratory in India.
