UP Health Department Reshuffle: 6 CMOs Transferred

Lucknow: In a recent administrative reshuffle, the Uttar Pradesh Health Department has transferred six Chief Medical Officers (CMOs) to new positions in Gorakhpur, Deoria, Kushinagar, Ballia, Sultanpur, and Ambedkarnagar, aiming to strengthen the healthcare management in these districts.
According to official orders, Dr. Rajesh Jha, who was serving as the Chief Medical Officer in Deoria, has now been transferred as the CMO of Gorakhpur. Similarly, Dr. Sanjay Kumar Shailwal, who held the position of Joint Director (Training) at the Directorate of Health Services in Lucknow, will take charge as the Chief Medical Officer of Ambedkar Nagar.

Dr. Anupam Prakash Bhaskar, formerly serving as a Senior Consultant at the District Combined Hospital in Kaushambi, has been transferred to Kushinagar as the new Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Sanjeev Verma, the Additional Chief Medical Officer of Agra, has been transferred to the Chief Medical Officer of Ballia, Dynamite news reports.
Dr. Bharat Bhushan, who was the Additional Chief Medical Officer in Moradabad, will now serve as the CMO of Sultanpur. Lastly, Dr. Anil Kumar Gupta, who held the post of Additional Chief Medical Officer in Lakhimpur Kheri, has been transferred as the new Chief Medical Officer of Deoria.
Medical Dialogues had previously reported that the Jharkhand Health Department has transferred and appointed five senior doctors across three medical colleges as principals and superintendents.
The three medical colleges include Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College Hospital (SNMMCH), Dhanbad, Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College Hospital (MGMMCH) Jamshedpur, and Medinirai Medical College Hospital (MMCH), Palamu.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that the Uttar Pradesh government announced plans to provide specialist doctor consultations at Community Health Centers (CHCs) across the state under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. The initiative, slated for launch in the 2025-26 financial year, aims to enhance healthcare accessibility.
