Uttarakhand: Medical officer suspended for allegedly misbehaving with patient at CHC
Kotdwar: A medical officer of Satpuli Community Health Centre (CHC) has been suspended for allegedly misbehaving with patients and their attendants in an "inebriated" state and using "indecent language" against Cabinet Minister Satpal Maharaj.
Health Secretary R Rajesh Kumar suspended the doctor with immediate effect.
The accused was the medical officer of Satpuli Community Health Centre (CHC).
Satpuli is located in Satpal Maharaj's constituency Chaubattakhal.
The doctor was found drunk when two people brought a patient from a nearby village for treatment to the CHC late on Monday night, the official said.
When they requested the doctor to treat the patient, he began the formalities to refer him to a higher centre.
He misbehaved with them and spoke abusively about Satpal Maharaj when they threatened to lodge a complaint against him with the cabinet minister who is also the local MLA.
They made a video of the episode and put it on the social media leading to his suspension.
Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported that five nursing officers associated with the Shivpuri district hospital in Madhya Pradesh had been given suspension and the administration served a civil surgeon and a doctor a show-cause notice in connection with the 40-year-old missing patient's body found in the toilet of the surgery department of the hospital. A 40-year-old man was found dead in the bathroom of the state-run district hospital, three days after he was admitted to a hospital ward and went "missing''.
After the recovery of the patient, the administration suspended five nursing officers while the civil surgeon and a doctor were served show-cause notice,
