Viral Video Shows Doctor Allegedly Thrashing Patient in District Hospital Mahoba, FIR Registered
Mahoba: In a shocking incident, a doctor has been accused of assaulting a patient at the District Hospital Mahoba. The disturbing video was caught on CCTV camera and has since become viral on social media, prompting the authorities to launch a probe.
Taking cognisance of the matter, the District Magistrate (DM) of Mahoba has ordered an investigation into the matter and a First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against the concerned doctor.
The patient alleged that the doctor had prescribed medicines and when the patient protested against it, he was beaten by the accused doctor. Meanwhile, the doctor has stated that he opposed the patient's request for Rs 200 to drink alcohol.
The viral video showed that the accused doctor first slapped the patient on the face and then pushed him hard so that the patient hit the table of another doctor present inside the room. Next, the accused doctor thrashed the patient on the floor and kicked him multiple times. By this time, the other doctor stood up from his desk. Another man, presumably another patient was also present inside the room. When the accused doctor dragged the patient out of the room, the other man followed.

Soon more photos of the patient started circulating and it could be seen that he had swelling in his right eye, which was closed shut after the alleged attack.
While the patient alleged that the doctor attacked him when he opposed the prescription of costly outside medicines, the CMS PK Aggarwal informed Aaj Tak that the doctor alleged that the man was asking for money from him. The doctor alleged that the man demanded money for liquor and he also misbehaved with the female patients. When the doctor protested against this, a fight took place. The doctor also claimed that the allegations of prescribing medicines from outside are baseless.
The Daily adds that the DM has set up an investigation team in this connection and this team will probe the matter and submit a report. Meanwhile, a case has been registered against the accused doctor.
Meanwhile, after the video of a doctor beating the patient went viral on social media, people of the society started protesting against the incident and demanding strict action against the accused doctor. The District President of Brahmin Sevak Sangh, Adarsh Tiwari has demanded arrest of the accused doctor, adds ABP Live.
Sharing the video and the photo of the patient with huge swelling in his eye, NCMIndia Council For Men Affairs posted on X (formerly Twitter), "Meet Dr. *** working with District Hospital Mahoba, UP who ended up beating a patient named *** with his shoes because he requested him to not prescribe those costly medicine which is not available with the hospital Pharmacy. This is surely not what one can expect from his Doctor.? Dr. *** claimed in his defense that the Man was asking Rs. 200 from him to buy a liquor bottle and was misbehaving with women. But we can not see any woman there. It is so easy to bring gender card in every dispute."
