17 hospitals skip COVID meet in Gurugram, DC issues displeasure notice
Gurugram: Deputy Commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav has issued show-cause notices to 17 private hospitals that did not send representatives to a meeting of the District Task Force called to discuss the surge in COVID-19 cases.
The hospitals have been strictly instructed to explain the reason in detail for their absence in the district task force meeting that was held on Thursday at Mini Secretariat.
These 17 hospitals include Artemis Hospital, Paras Hospital, Manipal Hospital, Signature Hospital, Cloudnine Hospital, Aryan Hospital, Mayom Hospital, Satyam Hospital, W Pratiksha Hospital, Silver Streak Multi-Specialty Hospital, Uma Sanjeevani Hospital, RBS Hospital, Kailash Hospital, Lal Super Specialty Hospital, Sai Siddhi Hospital, Prakash Hospital and Trauma Centre and ESI, Manesar.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Vishram Kumar Meena said Yadav on Thursday chaired a meeting of the task force called by the Health Department.
During the meeting, discussions were held on the spurt in COVID and influenza cases in the district, the conduct of mock drills, measles and rubella eradication, and dengue and malaria, Meena said.
“Expressing displeasure towards the hospitals, which remained absent despite receiving the information, the deputy commissioner… directed by issuing notices to the hospitals concerned to clarify their position regarding not attending the meeting,” he added.
Nishant Kumar Yadav, the deputy commissioner, informed the HT, "The meeting was significant to discuss plans to control the rising number of COVID-19 cases, but the hospitals showed a casual approach by not attending the meeting, displaying non-seriousness. We have decided to increase testing in the district in the coming days."
However, the hospitals who were informed about the meeting by email and also in the WhatsApp group and ‘COVID S3 Portal’ choose to ignore the urgent matter by not sending their representative from the hospital to attend the meeting.
“Considering the negligence, the concerned hospitals have been issued notices and directed to clarify their position for not attending the meeting,” Kumar added.
India logged 5,880 new coronavirus cases, while the active cases have increased to 35,199, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Monday.
The death toll has increased to 5,30,979 with 14 deaths. While four deaths each were reported from Delhi and Himachal Pradesh, one each was reported from Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Maharashtra and Rajasthan and two reconciled by Kerala, the data updated at 8 am stated.
The daily positivity rate was recorded at 6.91 percent, while the weekly positivity rate was pegged at 3.67 percent.
The COVID case tally was recorded at 4.47 crore (4,47,62,496). The active cases now comprise 0.08 percent of the total infections and the national COVID-19 recovery rate has been recorded at 98.73 percent, the ministry said.
With the rise in Covid-19 cases in India, the Ministry of Health has announced nationwide mock drills on Monday and Tuesday to assess hospital preparedness. Both public and private facilities are set to take part in the drills.
