"Healthcare has become very expensive. Many people can't afford pvt healthcare. This step will help all such people."
The development comes after Kejriwal approved the Health Department's proposal to make the tests free.
The official said, "The plan is still in the initial stage and we have been working on it for the past one year. For now, the 212 tests which are available at mohalla clinics are being extended to 450 tests," reports The Indian Express.
In the initial phase, the medical tests will be available free of cost at mohalla clinics across the city and later will be extended to all government hospitals, the official added.
The tests which are provided free of cost in Delhi hospitals are haemoglobin test, stool routine, kidney function test, liver function test, lipid profile, blood glucose random test, etc., reports TOI.
Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had inaugurated four Mahila Mohalla Clinics, developed as special primary healthcare facilities exclusively for women. He informed that 100 such facilities will soon be available for women.
