AIIMS Delhi ranked 6th, TMC Mumbai 13th in Global Hospital Rankings 2026

New Delhi: In a remarkable achievement and proud moment for India's healthcare sector, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, has been ranked the 6th best hospital globally in the 2026 Brand Finance Global Top 250 Hospitals report. Tata Memorial Centre (TMC), Mumbai, also featured in specialised rankings, securing the 13th position.
According to the global rankings, AIIMS New Delhi, a premier autonomous medical university and research institution in the capital, received a Brand Strength Index (BSI) score of 79.9, a Care Score of 76.1 and a Research Score of 79.4.
Tata Memorial Centre (TMC), Mumbai, a premier cancer care and research institute in India, earned a Brand Strength Index score of 77.0, a Care Score of 78.4 and a Research Score of 80.6.

The Brand Finance Global Top 250 Hospitals report scored the hospitals using a Brand Strength Index built from a survey of 2,500 healthcare professionals and 30+ metrics across 500+ AMCs. The rankings aim to identify institutions that have built strong reputations while maintaining high standards in clinical services and innovation.
In Brand Finance’s framework, these organisations pair strong clinical reputations with the visibility that comes from education, research output, and high-impact specialities.
Globally, Johns Hopkins Medicine in the United States secured the top position in the 2026 rankings. It was followed by Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in the United Kingdom and Stanford University Medical Center in the United States. Other leading institutions in the top 10 included Mass General Brigham, Mayo Clinic Health System, University Health Network, Cleveland Clinic, Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, and Singapore General Hospital.
AIIMS New Delhi has long been regarded as India’s premier government medical institution, known for its advanced patient care, teaching excellence, and research contributions. Similarly, Tata Memorial Centre has been at the forefront of affordable cancer treatment and research in India.
