AIIMS Jammu Triggers Security Alert After Suspected Drone Discovery

Jammu: A suspected hostile drone was discovered inside the campus of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS Jammu) on Friday evening, triggering a security alert. The drone was found in the institute's residential complex, raising concerns about potential surveillance or other malicious activities.
In response, a security alert was issued, and police swiftly arrived at the scene to assess the situation.

According to Republic World, "Upon receiving the information, senior police officials rushed to the spot, and an investigation is currently underway to determine the origin and purpose of the drone. Security agencies are also probing whether the drone was being used for surveillance or any other suspicious activity," Police said.
The incident at AIIMS Vijaypur comes just after a strong security crackdown in Jammu and Kashmir. Earlier on Friday, the Jammu & Kashmir Police took a tough stance against terror supporters in the region. The Udhampur Police detained a hard-core terror associate under the Jammu & Kashmir Public Safety Act (PSA) for his involvement in providing logistical support to terrorist organizations.
According to the news reports, the accused was identified as a resident of Sadrota, Tehsil Lohai Malhar, District Kathu. He was reportedly acting as a guide and facilitator for terrorist groups operating in the area.
The campus falls under the ‘no-flying zone’ category, and the presence of the drone has prompted a security alert, police said, reports PTI.
Authorities have cited strong evidence and past records of his involvement in aiding terrorist groups, leading to his detention under the Public Safety Act.
