AP: SVIMS gets Rs 5 crore healthcare equipment donation
Tirupati: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Trust Board Chairman and Chancellor of Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS) YV Subba Reddy inaugurated Rs 5-crore worth of healthcare facilities donated by Doctors for You (DFY) along with HDFC bank.
The hospital received the donation on Thursday and decided to inaugurate the facilities on Friday. The donation will help the hospital to upgrade the facilities and function smoothly.
This donation was made jointly by DFY and HDFC, which came with 10 high-end multipara monitors, 20 midrange multipara monitors, 50 pulse oximeters, 10 ventilators, one neonatal ventilator, 25 dialysis machines, 2 ultrasound machines, and other high-tech medical equipment.

DFY is a pan India humanitarian organization with an international presence and is working in various disaster hit zones for the last 14 years. DFY focuses on providing medical care to the vulnerable communities during crisis and non-crisis situations, and emergency medical aid to people affected by a natural disasters, conflicts and epidemics.
Doctors for You was founded in India in 2007, by doctors, medical students and like-minded people with a vision of "Health for all." Currently, DFY is working on various projects in different states of India involving health professionals, Disaster Management Practitioners, Social Workers and Administrative Staff.

TTD board member Pokala Ashok Kumar, Deputy Chief Minister K Narayanaswamy, Tirupati MP Dr M Gurumoorthy, MLA Bhumana Karunakar Reddy, JEO V Veerabhramam, SVIMS director Dr B Vengamma, DFY Director Dr Rajat Jain, HDFC cluster head Srikanth Reddy, Mayor Dr R Sirisha, and others were present at the occasion.
"We are planning to develop SVIMS existing 100-bed cancer hospital into a 300-bed regional cancer centre," said Subba Reddy. He also asked for donations to upgrade the cancer centre and asked DFY to help identify the donors.

Tirupati MP Dr M Gurumoorthy told TOI that "The future of SVIMS will be brighter as the TTD was committed to developing the institute in all aspects. The goal is to make the hospital the best medicare destination for the poor and needy."
