CARE Hospitals holds walkathon to raise awareness for brain tumours
Hyderabad: CARE Hospitals, Hi-Tec City, one of Hyderabad's leading multi-speciality hospitals, on Saturday orchestrated an awareness walkathon featuring survivors of brain tumours to commemorate World Brain Tumour Day.
According to a UNI news report, The event was flagged off by chief guest Dr Roopa Koduvayur, a doctor and actress, in the presence of guest of honour Dr Srinivas Reddy, Founder and Managing Director of Optimus Group Private Limited, Dr Rajat Kumar, IAS, doctors, and hospital staff.
The primary objective of the walkathon was to raise awareness about brain health, the prevalence of brain tumours, and to advocate for a healthy lifestyle post-surgery for survivors.

Doctors and hospital staff walked alongside brain tumour survivors, celebrating their victory over adversity. The event brought together survivors, their families, medical professionals, and community members to highlight the importance of early diagnosis and treatment.
Participants shared personal stories of resilience, demonstrating the potential for recovery with the right medical care. A felicitation ceremony followed the walkathon to commend the survivors for their courage and triumph.

Dr Rajat Kumar emphasized the importance of awareness in combating brain tumours, stating, "Awareness is the first step in fighting brain tumours. Early diagnosis and the right treatment can significantly improve patient outcomes. Many individuals, once diagnosed early and treated appropriately, can recover and lead fulfilling lives. Today, we pay tribute to our survivors, whose strength and determination serve as a beacon of hope and resilience."
As part of World Brain Tumour Day initiatives, CARE Hospitals, Hi-Tec City, is offering a special 50 percent discount on Brain Imaging (CT scan) and Neurosurgeon Consultations for a month. This initiative aims to educate the public about the signs and symptoms of brain tumors, emphasizing that awareness and timely intervention can save lives.
