CM Fadnavis inaugurates 150-bed Apulki Medical Centre in Baner

Pune- To boost Affordable Cancer Care services, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis inaugurated the Apulki Medical Centre in Baner on May 17, 2026, describing it as a major step towards improving affordable cancer care facilities in the state.
Located in Baner, the project comprises a 150-bed super-speciality hospital focused on cancer and cardiac care. The facility has been designed with advanced medical infrastructure and modern treatment techniques, while also ensuring that services remain affordable for patients from Pune and across Maharashtra.
The hospital has been jointly developed by Apulki Healthcare Private Limited and the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. This hospital will provide great relief to patients seeking affordable and advanced medical treatment.
According to The Bridge Chronicle media report, while speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Fadnavis said, “Cancer cases have increased significantly in recent years, and the cost of treatment is very high. This hospital, developed under the PPP model, will provide major relief to patients and their families.”
He further said, “The Apulki Medical Centre will become a milestone in the healthcare sector. Similar hospitals can be developed across Maharashtra in the future using this model.”
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister also lauded Apulki Healthcare for providing treatment at CGHS rates and under government health schemes.
“Affordable and quality healthcare should reach common citizens, and this initiative is an important step in that direction,” he added.
The state government was working on multiple levels to strengthen the infrastructure for cancer treatment, as the number of patients was continuously rising and treatment remained prohibitively expensive for many families.
Fadnavis said, “We are making efforts at different levels to fight cancer. The Pune Municipal Corporation and Apulki Medical Centre have created a model that can become a milestone for the future. Similar hospitals can be developed across the state using this framework”.
Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar and several senior government officials were also present at this inauguration ceremony.
