CM Nitish lays foundation stone for Rs 264 crore Tibbi Medical College Hospital

Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar laid the foundation stone for the 200-bed Government Tibbi Medical College and Hospital, urging officials to expeditiously complete the construction while maintaining adherence to quality standards.
While unveiling the foundation stone through a remote here on Saturday, Kumar said that the 200-bed Government Tibbi Medical College and Hospital was being constructed at an expenditure of Rs 264 crore on 10 acres of land in the Nalanda Medical College and Hospital campus, news agency UNI reported.
He said that providing accessible, affordable and quality health care to every citizen of the state was the priority of the government.

Highlighting the importance of the Unani system of treatment, he said the government was trying to strengthen this system along with Ayurveda and Homoeopathy for providing better health services to the people.
Speaking about the indigenous system of treatments, Kumar said that Unani played an important role as it not only treats the disease but also focuses on a person's body, mind and soul. It keeps a person healthy through lifestyle, diet, naturopathy and Hakimi medicines.
While inspecting the Government Tabbi Medical College Hospital in 2021, the CM in view of the dilapidated conditions of its building, had instructed officials to construct and expand it on 10 acre of land adjacent to the Nalanda Medical College Hospital campus in the state capital.
The authorities apprised the Chief Minister about the separate boys and girls hostel, PG intern hostel and infrastructure for the principal medical superintendent.
Kumar said 150 students would be enrolled every year in the government Tibbi Medical College Hospital which will have a provision of 200 beds, a Convention Hall of 500 capacity, boys hostel with 400 capacities, the girls hostel with 350 capacity, medicine manufacturing unit along with the residence of employees of the institution, reports UNI.
The building is expected to be completed in the next 30 months.
