Delhi: LNJP to Get New MRI, CT Scanners; DSCI to Receive Linear Accelerator Under Delhi–IOCL Agreement

New Delhi: A new Delhi Government-IOCL partnership is poised to enhance critical hospital infrastructure, particularly in imaging and cancer treatment services.
As part of a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Delhi Government and Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), major upgrades have been announced for two key public hospitals in the capital, focusing on strengthening diagnostic and cancer care services.
According to the agreement, Lok Nayak Hospital (LNJP)—one of India’s largest government-run tertiary care centres with a high daily patient load—will receive new MRI and CT scanners. The additions are expected to enhance imaging capacity, reduce waiting times, and support more timely clinical evaluations.
Similarly, the Delhi State Cancer Institute (DSCI), Dilshad Garden—a specialised cancer care institution providing comprehensive oncology services—will be equipped with a high-energy linear accelerator to expand radiotherapy options for patients requiring advanced cancer treatment.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta stated that such initiatives are aimed at bringing “swift, effective, and citizen-friendly” improvements to the city’s health system. Officials added that the upgraded equipment is expected to support better diagnosis, improved patient management, and reduced treatment delays at both centres.
The MoU forms part of a broader collaboration under which IOCL will assist the Delhi Government in upgrading key public facilities. Beyond healthcare, the agreement covers initiatives related to infrastructure improvement, beautification of select locations, and provision of essential civic services—reflecting a multi-sector effort to enhance public amenities across the capital.
