Job Scam: Man poses as AIIMS doctor dupes Gurugram woman of Rs 1.4 lakh

Gurugram: In a fraud case reported in the capital, a woman lost Rs 1.4 lakh to a man pretending to be a doctor at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi. The accused cheated the victim and took her money by promising to get her a job at the institute.

An FIR was lodged under Section 420 (cheating) of the IPC on Thursday, police said.

According to the complainant, the accused was introduced as Amol on a matrimonial website earlier this year in February. The accused also said that he worked as an orthopaedic surgeon at AIIMS, Delhi and that there were several vacancies at the hospital, she said in her complaint.

The man asked Rs 1,870 for “registration”, Rs 8,700 for “medical testing”. The complainant said she transferred Rs 11,220 and Rs 52,200 for six candidates, including her. The man asked for another Rs 73,600 under the pretext of “training”.

Later, the man sent forged certificates of Vinod JSO 9001:200 with the company name of national storekeeper national Escort Service Private Limited with the scope of male escort service Gigolo Service, play boy club, call boy agency escort service, she said in the complaint.

The woman then lodged a complaint with the police. Police said the investigation into the matter is underway.

“The accused is not related to the institution. We are probing the case. No arrest has been made as of now,” said a police officer.

“He told her there was a vacancy at the hospital and she would get the post if she sent money to different bank accounts. She sent Rs 1.4 lakh to the man in a series of transactions. Later, she got a fake certificate and realised that she was being duped,” an officer informed The Indian Express.
