JP Nadda inaugurates ARHI Hospital in Meghalaya, highlights healthcare expansion

Shillong: Union Health Minister JP Nadda on Thursday announced that the Centre remained committed to strengthening healthcare infrastructure across the Northeast and ensuring that advanced medical services are accessible to people living in remote and underserved areas.
Nadda made the assertion while inaugurating ARHI Hospital in Meghalaya's Ri-Bhoi district. He added that the facility would help improve health outcomes for people in the state.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony, Nadda said establishing a modern super-speciality hospital in a hilly state like Meghalaya was a visionary achievement and a significant step towards strengthening healthcare delivery in the region, news agency PTI reported.
"It is a matter of great happiness for me to be part of the inauguration ceremony of ARHI Hospital. I thank MLA Alexander Hek for inviting me and extend my heartfelt congratulations to everyone associated with this remarkable initiative," he said in a social media post.
The Union minister said the hospital was more than just a healthcare facility and would serve as a beacon of hope for people seeking quality medical care closer to home.
"Such institutions play a crucial role in improving access to specialised healthcare services and reducing the need for patients to travel outside the state for treatment," he said, reports PTI.
He lauded the efforts of those involved in setting up the hospital and expressed confidence that the institution would contribute significantly to the state's healthcare sector by providing quality treatment, creating employment opportunities and supporting medical excellence.
