Man allegedly jumps from Vadodara Hospital's 4th floor, lands on ambulance driver

Vadodara: In a shocking incident, a 33-year-old man undergoing treatment at the state-run Sir Sayajirao General (SSG) Hospital in Vadodara allegedly attempted suicide for the second time in a day by jumping from the hospital’s fourth floor, seriously injuring himself and an ambulance driver standing below.
According to the news reports, the man, a resident of Shastrinagar in Kishanwadi, was brought to the hospital by his wife on Friday morning after he slit his wrist with a blade at home.

While receiving treatment in the emergency department, the man reportedly made his way to the fourth floor of the hospital building and jumped. He landed on an ambulance driver who was standing below, leaving both men seriously injured.
The man sustained multiple injuries, including a fractured leg, while the ambulance driver suffered severe back injuries and fractures to his vertebrae. The ambulance driver is currently undergoing treatment, TOI reports.
According to family members, the man had been behaving unusually for the past two days and had told them that he did not want to return home. The family said there had been no dispute or quarrel at home before the incident.
The man is married and has a daughter. He was unemployed, according to his family.
The circumstances surrounding the incident and the reasons behind his repeated suicide attempts remain unclear. Raopura police have initiated an investigation into the incident.
Medical Dialogues had previously reported that a homoeopathy MD student allegedly opened fire on a woman batchmate and her cousin at her residence in Madhya Pradesh's Bhopal on Tuesday night before reportedly attempting suicide by hanging himself at his home, police said. The incident took place around 11 pm at the Patanjali Parisar under the Gandhinagar police station limits.
