Mangaluru: KMC hospital organizes Contest for pregnant women
Mangaluru: Kasturba Medical College (KMC) hospital is organizing a contest for pregnant women and is now taking participants for the contest. It is being held in honour of International Mother's Day.
The contest focuses on the comfort of women with an easy 2-step registration process and assures 100% confidentiality.
There are two ways, to participate in the contest, one, the pregnant women have to send a photo showing the baby bump or the other, where she may write a letter of about 300 words addressing her future child, expressing what she feels like a new parent and what the child means to her.

A prize worth Rs 50,000 will be awarded to the winner, Rs 30,000 to the first runner-up, and Rs 20,000 to the second runner-up.

When asked about the contest, the hospital's Regional Chief Operations Officer Saghir Siddiqui said "The contest celebrates the special things about becoming a mother. This contest endeavors to help people enjoy the experience of motherhood." TH reports.

Scheme for Pregnant Woman
The Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan has been launched by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW), Government of India. The program aims to provide assured, comprehensive, and quality antenatal care, free of cost, universally to all pregnant women on the 9th of every month.

PMSMA guarantees a minimum package of antenatal care services to women in their 2nd / 3rd trimesters of pregnancy at designated government health facilities.
The programme follows a systematic approach for engagement with the private sector which includes motivating private practitioners to volunteer for the campaign; developing strategies for generating awareness and appealing to the private sector to participate in the Abhiyan at government health facilities.
