Manipal Hospitals Join Hands with BIAL to Launch 24/7 Airport Medical Center
Bengaluru: In a move to enhance medical care for passengers, Manipal Hospitals has partnered with Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) to establish a dedicated Airport Medical Centre at Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru. This new facility, which operates round the clock, aims to provide immediate medical assistance to both passengers and airport staff.
The Airport Medical Centre, a dedicated healthcare facility, is designed to cater to the urgent medical needs of travellers at one of India’s busiest airports. This newly launched facility operates 24/7, is equipped with the latest medical technology, and is staffed by trained healthcare professionals. It provides quick and efficient services, including outpatient consultations (OPD), first aid, diagnostics like X-rays and ultrasounds (USG), and immediate medical intervention.

In addition to treating immediate medical conditions, the facility focuses on proactive healthcare by training frontline airport staff in life-saving skills and raising awareness about common medical emergencies, such as cardiac arrests, strokes, and sudden medical distress.
Manipal Hospitals will serve as the central point of coordination for all types of aircraft emergency and disaster management services at BLR Airport. The facility is equipped with an advanced digital cardiac monitoring system for cardiac patients visiting the clinic. This system tracks heart activity and immediately alerts specialists through a dedicated app, ensuring prompt medical intervention in case of any irregularities. The facility also has two Manipal Ambulance Response Services (MARS) ambulances stationed at all times, ready to transport patients to Manipal Hospital Hebbal.
The facility also offers a range of services designed to support passengers' health during their travels. Fit-to-Fly Certifications will be provided to passengers who need to demonstrate that they are medically fit to travel. In addition, the centre will conduct Breath Analyzer Tests for alcohol testing and provide minor medical procedures.
