Motilal Nehru hospital of Prayagraj gets NQAS certificate
NQAS certificates are originally given to district hospitals, community and primary health centers making them eligible for better funding to improve its facilities
Prayagraj: The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) has recently awarded the Motilal Nehru (Colvin) Divisional Hospital with National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) certificate which makes it eligible to get better funding in order to improve its facilities and quality of services.

NQAS certificates are originally given to district hospitals, community and primary health centres.
The hospital is a government-run multi-speciality which was established in 1867 earlier known as Colvin Hospital, and now it has been named as MLN Divisional which was established on 26 January 1974, having sanctioned bed 156 and actual functional beds 199 in the heart of the city of Prayagraj (U.P.)
Motilal Nehru (Colvin) Divisional Hospital's chief medical superintendent Dr Indu Kannojia told HT that "the quality of services at the hospital have improved as per the set standards. The report of the NQAS team shows that the hospital met the standard of corrective action."
The NQAS team inspected the hospital for consecutive 3 days starting from February 17 to 19 this year and on March 10, the report was made public. The hospital received an outstanding 80 per cent in this category, obtaining the coveted certificate. The 10 departments of the MLN hospital including the auxiliary departments were examined by a three-member team last year, such as outdoor-indoor patients, pharmacy, blood bank, radiology, operation theatre and laboratory, kitchen, laundry, sanitation, general administration etc.
The MLN hospital is now the third hospital in Prayagraj to receive the NQAS certificate with the District Women's (Dufferin) Hospital and the Community Health Centre (CHC)-Pratappur already having received the certificates.
