Tata Memorial Centre inks MoU with Powergrid for Digital Subtraction Angiography System
Mumbai: Tata Memorial Centre (TMC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Powergrid Corporation of India, for providing Digital Subtraction Angiography System (DSA) to Tata Memorial Hospital (TMH) under a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.
In India, around 100 out of every 1 lakh people are diagnosed with cancer, and a report from the Cancer Registry Program states the incidence of cancer cases is estimated to increase by 12.8% in 2025 as compared to 2020. The alarming statistics underscore the need for precision-driven, AI-enabled solutions to advance cancer care.
In a significant step toward strengthening cancer care and patient support, Powergrid Corporation of India has generously donated for cutting-edge Digital Subtraction Angiography System (DSA) to TMH, one of Asia’s premier cancer treatment and research institution.

TMH treats over 70,000 new cancer patients annually and remains at the forefront of oncological care, research, and education in India. The addition of the Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA) system will further augment its ability to deliver comprehensive and compassionate care to patients from across the country.
The Digital Subtraction Angiography with Computed Tomography (DSA-CT) state-of-the-art imaging system that provides high-resolution, real time visualization of blood vessels and soft tissues. As interventional radiology is finding rapidly expanding applications for minimally invasive treatment of cancer, this advanced system will enable faster, more accurate diagnosis and treatment planning of these patients, allowing TMH to serve more cancer patients with greater precision and efficiency.
This will enable the hospital to handle approx. 3000 procedures per year and also bolster the hospital’s efforts in delivering timely and high-quality treatment to cancer patients, especially those from underprivileged backgrounds.
