Hyderabad: The state government has decided to broaden the knee replacement surgery services in all the government hospitals across the state of Telangana.
The decision was taken based on the successful result of conducting the surgery in Gandhi Hospital and the Osmania General Hospital.
Now, patients struggling with financial difficulties will be able to get the knee replacement surgery for free at any government hospital. On the other hand, private hospitals charges around ₹2.5 lakh to ₹3 lakh for the surgery.

Recently, a special health camp was conducted in Siddipet district where orthopaedic surgeons selected three workers including two farmers out of 72 patients identified for knee replacement surgery. The rest will be able to get the surgery in the coming weeks. The surgery was conducted at the Government District Hospital in Siddipet at a cost of Rs 95,000. The funds were provided by the state government.
On Tuesday Rao went to the hospital to see the patients and ask them about their conditions.
