Telangana Minister inaugurates upgraded 100-bed ICU ward at Niloufer Hospital
Hyderabad: The Telangana government authorities have recently upgraded the prestigious Women and Child Hospital of Niloufer to a 100 bed ICU ward. Telangana Minister of Finance Harish Rao has inaugurated the new ward on Saturday.
Sharing the snippets of the incident in social media, the Health Minister stated that Hysia and Nirman, two IT companies have come forward to jointly design the infrastructure of the hospital. They also provided financial aid, which had helped in creating better medical infrastructural facilities. He also stated that the Telangana government had already upgraded beds in all government hospitals with oxygen facilities and provided oxygen generation plants.
"The Chief Minister aims to further strengthen the medical sector. He said Rs 10,000 crore would be spent in the coming days. We have set up 5000 beds especially for children in the wake of Corona Third Wave estimates. For this, an amount of Rs 133 crores was released", stated the minister.
Moreover, on this occasion, Infosys and Nirman signed an agreement to set up another 25 ICU beds in Nilofar at a cost of Rs 1.75 crore. Hysia, Nirman jointly funded Rs 18 crore for strengthening large-scale government hospitals after the second wave.
According to the minister the CM would take many more key decisions to strengthen the health sector.
"He made sure that efforts are being made to further enhance the health sector by allocating Rs.10,000 crore to provide corporate level medicine. I will increase public confidence in government medicine. With the introduction of KCR KITs, the delivery rate has increased from 30% to 50%. The infant mortality rate also has declined considerably ", added Rao.
The minister informed that 8 more medical colleges are most likely to start developing from next year. Government is willing to have a medical college in every district. Another 800 beds are supposed to be available in Niloofar with a budget of 33 crores.
Minister Harish assured to provide necessary protection to the medical fraternity. He urged them to play a responsible role in delivering the best medical services for the poor. The Minister also inaugurated a District Early Intervention Centre at Niloufer Hospital.
