UP: Amethi Medical College expansion to add 350 Beds by 2026

Puttur Medical College Project Gets Approval for 300-Bed Hospital
Amethi: A new 300-bed hospital and a 50-bed critical care block, being built by the Uttar Pradesh government in Tiloi tehsil of Amethi district at a cost of approximately Rs 300 crore, is expected to become fully operational in 2026. Its opening will provide better healthcare facilities to the people of the district and the surrounding areas.
Currently, OPD and indoor services are being provided at the 200-bed hospital attached to the medical college.

According to officials, a new 300-bed hospital and a 50-bed critical care block will be handed over by January 31, 2026. After this, the hospital will have a total capacity of 550 beds. The construction of the nursing college is also expected to be completed during the same period.
The State Autonomous Medical College has 100 approved seats for the MBBS course. In addition, 11 diploma courses in paramedical sciences are being offered, with a total of 230 seats. These courses include subjects such as Anesthesia, Emergency and Trauma Care, Lab Technician, Operation Theatre Technician, and X-ray Technician, news agency UNI reported.
Preparations are underway to start 60 seats in the BSc Nursing course from the upcoming academic session 2026-27. DNB courses have also been approved in some departments, while inspections for other courses have been completed.
Principal of the medical college, Dr Reena Sharma, said here on Thursday that healthcare services and academic facilities are being continuously expanded. The construction work is being carried out by the Public Works Department (PWD), reports UNI.
PWD Executive Engineer Umesh Chandra said that the building construction is complete, and finishing work is currently underway. Work on the hostels and other ancillary buildings is also progressing.
