Haryana: A massive initiative of the health department of Sirsa, Haryana targeting the hospitals allegedly performing sex determination test, recently led to a raid at Indrani Hospital Bathinda. The raid was a joint force of the health team of Sirsa, the police, and the Bathinda Civil Hospital.
The action was taken on the basis of a complaint filed against the hospital with the health department. In order to find out the truth behind the allegations, a sting operation was set in motion.
At the initial part of the plan, a woman was sent to the hospital disguised as a patient wanting to determine the gender of her baby to which the hospital allegedly agreed to conduct the illegal ultrasound test.

According to the police officials, three people were found to be involved directly with the illegal activity and the accused were detained.
Bathinda deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Aaswant Singh Dhaliwal said," The local police were duly informed by the Haryana authorities. Bajrang Singh, a registered medical practitioner from Bathinda's Mati Das Nagar, has been arrested by the Sirsa police", reported HT.
However, Dr. Atin Gupta, the owner of Indrani Hospital refused to accept the allegations calling it a hideous attempt to defame them and asserted that no such illegal test has been conducted in the hospital.
