NBE 22nd Convocation on May 10th, Registration deadline extended for eligible candidates, Know guidelines
New Delhi- Through a recent notice, the National Board of Examination in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has informed regarding the new deadline for registration for its 22nd Convocation and Awards Ceremony on May 10, 2024. This convocation is being conducted for the candidates who have qualified the DNB, DRNB and FNB exit examinations in 2021, 2022 and 2023 sessions. The convocation will be held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi and will be presided over by Draupadi Murmu, Honorable President of India.
Now, eligible candidates can register themselves till 6th May 2024 by paying the enrollment fee of Rs 2500/- through the official website of NBE. The earlier registration deadline for the convocation program was April 22, 2024.
Additionally, NBE has also issued detailed instructions/guidelines for the candidates to follow at the convocation.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE CONVOCATION PROGRAM
1 Only persons who are pre-verified with their government-issued photo identity cards are allowed entry into Vigyan Bhawan, however, children below 14 years of age are not allowed inside the Plenary Hall.
2 Invited candidates are required to share the details of one of the following Govt issued Photo IDs in an online form shared with them and are requested to carry the same Photo ID in original for security reasons-
1 Aadhaar Card (With photograph)
2 Driving License
3 Voter ID
4 PAN card
5 Passport
3 Once the candidates are inside the venue, they will have to go to the designated Registration Counters which will be set up by NBEMS.
4 Candidates will have to register at the Registration Counter and obtain their “Registration kit”. Candidates will not be allowed entry into the Plenary Hall of Vigyan Bhawan without their Registration Badges provided as a part of their Registration kits.
5 After registration, candidates will have to obtain their Convocation dress (Gowns) from the designated counters.
6 Arrangements shall be made by NBEMS for Tea/snacks and Lunch for the participating candidates and their guests.
7 The male candidates should appear in high-buttoned-up coats with trousers (National Dress) or trousers with coat and necktie. The female candidates should wear sarees or shirts with salwar/chooridar/pyjamas.
8 Candidates will have to make their own arrangements for their travel and stay in New Delhi. The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences will not be able to make such arrangements for the candidates.
9 Considering the seating capacity of the Plenary Hall, up to four guests shall be permitted to accompany each Gold Medalist candidate details of whom MUST be submitted in an online form along with details of their Govt. issued Photo IDs. The online form is being circulated to the Gold Medalists at their registered Email IDs.
10 Outside eatables, water bottles, liquid of any kind, etc. are not permitted inside the premises. Luggage/bags/smartwatches/coins are not allowed.
11 There is very limited parking space inside the premises, which may only be utilised for VVIP.
The timelines for the conduct of the convocation and the award ceremony for Gold Medalists are as follows-
1 The main ceremony shall start at 04:15 PM.
2 The Gold Medal Awardees shall report to the venue at 12:00 PM.
3 The awardees shall undertake a full dress rehearsal from 02:00 PM onwards in the Plenary hall.
4 The awardees shall be seated at their allotted seats by 03:15 PM.
Meanwhile, the main convocation ceremony will begin at 04:15 pm and is likely to be completed by 07:30 pm.

At this convocation, degrees and gold medals will be awarded to the following 2021, 2022 and 2023 session candidates who have qualified the DNB, DRNB and FNB exit examinations:

Meanwhile, the candidates who have been declared as Gold Medal winners have been specially invited to attend this Convocation for the Award Ceremony to receive their Gold Medal winners as well as their Degree Certificates in person. To get the detailed information to attend the award ceremony, specialty-wise, and session-wise list of Gold Medalists has been published on the official website of NBEMS.
Whereas, degree certificates of other eligible candidates will be sent to their correspondence address through speed post within 3 months of the convocation ceremony. However, those candidates are instructed to update their correspondence address online while registering for the Convocation.
