NBE extends training of DNB, DrNB, FNB candidates due to COVID-19 pandemic
New Delhi: Through a recent notice, the National Board of Examination (NBE) has informed about the extension of training of DNB, DrNB and FNB candidates keeping in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The trainees of all the departments across all the specialties have significantly contributed to the management of COVID-19 pandemic as front-line warriors. It is well known that the "specialty-specific training" of DNB, DrNB and FNB trainees has been adversely impacted in the entire country due to the COVID-19 pandemic and consequent lockdown for 6 – 9 months.
Hence, the Governing body, NBE has decided to extend the training of all the candidates of below mentioned batches, by a period of "three months" beyond their scheduled date of completion of training, across all courses (DNB/DrNB/FNB) to compensate for the loss of the "specialty specific training" due to COVID-19 pandemic.
This extension of training shall be applicable to the following batches of trainees whose scheduled tenure is ending in 2021:

It is mandatory for all the hospitals to pay the stipend to the trainees (as per NBE stipend guidelines) for this three-month period of extension of training, the NBE reiterated.

Earlier, the NBE had informed about the payment of the annual course fee by the DNB, FNB and DrNB trainees.
