NBE further extends thesis Submission deadline for DNB trainees as special case
New Delhi: Through a recent notice, the National Board of Examination (NBE) has informed about the extension of last date for submission of Thesis by DNB trainees, who are eligible to appear in the DNB Final Theory Examination December 2020, as a special case.
As per NBE norms, writing a Thesis is essential for all DNB trainees towards the partial fulfilment of eligibility for award of the Diplomate National Board (DNB) degree.
This comes pursuant to the requests received both from DNB Trainees and Accredited institutions to extend the last date for submission of Thesis, as trainees have not been able to complete their Thesis-writing due to the COVID-19 national lockdown.
Earlier, the date was extended two times. For trainees, the last date was previously decided to be 15th December, however, with the doctors now submitting representations seeking extension in the submission deadline, the Natboard has now extended the date.
It is mandatory for DNB trainees who are eligible to appear in a forthcoming DNB Final Theory Examination to submit their Theses for Assessment at least six months prior to the Examination. However, in view of COVID-19 pandemic the last date for submission of Thesis has been extended from time to time.
Therefore, in the light of the received requests and due to COVID-19 pandemic, the last date for submission of Thesis by DNB trainees who are eligible to appear in the DNB Final Theory Examination - June 2021, is extended by a period of three months, i.e., till the 31st of March, 2021, as a 'Special Case'.
All DNB trainees and accredited institutions are informed that, no further extension shall be given, and those trainees who do not submit their Theses by the 31st of March, 2021, shall be rendered 'ineligible' to appear in the DNB Final Theory Examination - June 2021.
The last date for submission of Thesis Protocol documents by DNB trainees of the July, 2020 admission session, is also extended till the 31st of March, 2021.
