NEET PG 2021 postponed, Details
New Delhi: In a major update for NEET PG aspirants across the country, the exam conducting body, the National Board of Examinations (NBE) has announced the postponement of NEET PG 2021 till further notice. This comes after the National Medical Commission (NMC), the apex medical regulator informed the body that it is matter of conduct of NEET-PG 2021 is being considered by the UG & PG Boards of the Commission in consultation with the stakeholders.
The NBE earlier this month, released the provisional schedule for PG Medical Exams conducted by it. As per the provisional schedule, NEET PG 2021 was supposed to be held on 10th January 2021, while NEET MDS 2021 on 16th December 2020. The date of FMGE December 2020 session was set on 4th December 2020 while the date of DNB PDCET 2021 was set at 28th January 2021.
However, the NBE has now released a public notice informing the deferment of the provisional schedule
"National Medical Commission (NMC) vide its communication No. NMC/Secy/2020/01 dated 29.10.2020 has informed that the matter of conduct of NEET-PG 2021 is being considered by the UG & PG Boards of the Commission in consultation with the stakeholders. In view of the aforementioned communication from NMC, the provisional schedule for conduct of NEET-PG 2021 as announced by NBE vide its notice dated 16th September 2020 stands deferred till further notice," stated the notice
The entire exam process in the medical sector has seen a hit in the light of the coronavirus and its subsequent lockdown. Earlier this year, first the NEET PG counseling was postponed, and then the conduct of NEET 2021 and its subsequent counseling was also postponed. Recently the counseling for NEET SS has also been postponed.
