Cadila Pharma Employee Found Dead Inside Toilet, Investigation Underway

Pharma Employee Death
Ahmedabad: In a tragic and mysterious incident at Cadila Pharmaceuticals' facility in Dholka, a 35-year-old employee, Varsha Rajput, was found dead in a toilet under unexplained circumstances on Monday. Authorities are currently investigating whether exposure to hazardous chemicals played a role in her untimely demise.
According to a report by The Times of India, Rajput had entered the washroom and made a distress call to a female colleague, indicating she was feeling unwell. However, the call went unanswered. When the colleague noticed the missed call, she and two male employees initiated a search for Rajput. They later discovered her unresponsive inside the restroom.
During the rescue attempt, all three individuals who entered the washroom experienced dizziness and nausea, prompting them to seek medical treatment at a local hospital.

Authorities suspect that exposure to hazardous chemicals inside the restroom may have contributed to Rajput’s death. A report by Gujarat Samachar suggested that strong cleaning acid left unattended in the toilet might have created a hazardous environment, leading to fatal exposure
However, investigators have clarified that this is only a preliminary assessment, and the exact cause of death will be determined after a detailed forensic examination.
A Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team has been dispatched to the site to collect samples and evidence. Authorities are also waiting for statements from the hospitalized employees who entered the washroom in an attempt to help Rajput.
The precise timing of the incident is still unclear, and Cadila Pharmaceuticals has not yet issued an official statement regarding the tragedy.
The forensic investigation is expected to shed further light on the circumstances leading to Rajput’s death and whether additional corrective actions are needed to prevent similar tragedies in the future, reports TOI.
This incident has raised serious concerns about workplace safety protocols, especially regarding the handling and storage of hazardous cleaning materials within the facility.
