CDSCO Cancels Import Registration for IVATHERM Cosmetics Held by Mylan Pharma
New Delhi: The Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) has cancelled the cosmetic import registration certificate held by Mylan Pharmaceuticals Private Limited with immediate effect after the company sought its surrender citing operational and commercial reasons.
According to an Office Memorandum issued by the Cosmetics Division of CDSCO, the registration certificate RC/COS-002497, dated July 8, 2021, and valid until June 30, 2026, has been cancelled following a request from Mylan Pharmaceuticals Private Limited.
The certificate pertained to the import of cosmetics manufactured by IVATHERM, a Romania-based cosmetics company located in Bucharest. Mylan Pharmaceuticals Private Limited acted as the Indian agent for the imported cosmetic products.
In the memorandum, CDSCO stated that Mylan Pharmaceuticals informed the regulator that it wished to surrender the registration certificate due to operational and commercial reasons.
"Therefore, as per the firm's request, the registration certificate vide RC No. RC/COS-002497 dated July 8, 2021, valid till June 30, 2026, pertaining to M/s Mylan Pharmaceuticals Private Limited is being cancelled with immediate effect," the regulator said.
The Office Memorandum has been issued by the office of the Drugs Controller General (India) and circulated to all CDSCO Zonal, Sub-Zonal and Port Offices. A copy has also been marked to IVATHERM in Romania and uploaded on the CDSCO website.
The cancellation relates to the surrender of the registration certificate by the company and does not cite any regulatory or quality-related concerns regarding the registered cosmetic products.
