Cipla elevates Achin Gupta as new Global Chief Operating Officer
Mumbai: Cipla has announced the appointment of Achin Gupta, Chief Executive Officer - One India Business (SMP) as the Global Chief Operating Officer (GCOO) of the Company w.e.f. 1st February 2025.
Achin Gupta joined Cipla in 2021 as CEO – One India business and has been a part of the Management Council. He has led successful growth and transformation of One India business with market beating, double digit growth in revenue & strong growth in profitability, thereby consolidating Cipla’s position as the top ranked company by volumes. This has been driven by deepening presence in chronic therapies, expansion into Tier 2-6 geographies, establishing category leadership in Wellness brands & building a future-fit trade generics business with direct customer reach.
Prior to joining Cipla, he was associated with Glenmark Pharmaceuticals as EVP Business Head EMEA L. Achin was a Member of the Core Operating Group, Director on the Board of key European affiliates and a Member of Board at Medicines for Europe. In his earlier roles, Achin has worked for Abbott EPD and started his career with management consulting firm AT Kearney. In addition to being an accomplished commercial leader, he brings an in depth understanding of cross functional areas including strategy, portfolio, product development, licensing and partnerships.
