Cipla Names Arun Kakatkar as Global Chief People Officer
Prior to joining Cipla, Kakatkar has held senior leadership positions with several reputed global organisations, including Microsoft Corporation, Kalyani Group, and TE Connectivity India.
New Delhi: Drug major Cipla Limited has approved the appointment of Arun Kakatkar as its Global Chief People Officer (GCPO) and Senior Management Personnel, with effect from March 17, 2026, according to a regulatory disclosure by the company.
The decision was taken by the Board of Directors at its meeting held on February 2, 2026, and has been disclosed under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015. Cipla stated that the appointment is in line with the applicable SEBI Listing Regulations and the relevant master circular issued in November 2024.
As per the disclosure, Arun Kakatkar will be appointed on a full-time employment basis and will be part of Cipla’s senior management team. In his new role, he will be responsible for leading the company’s global people strategy, organisational development, leadership capability, and culture initiatives across geographies.
Cipla described Kakatkar as a seasoned business leader with extensive experience across multiple business functions, industries, and international markets. He has led diverse teams in global environments and has been credited with delivering transformational outcomes in large organisations.
Prior to joining Cipla, Kakatkar has held senior leadership positions with several reputed global organisations, including Microsoft Corporation, Kalyani Group, and TE Connectivity India. He holds an engineering degree and an MBA from Pune University, and is deeply focused on building strong organisational culture, developing leadership talent, and enabling sustainable business outcomes.
The company further clarified that there is no relationship between the appointee and any of the directors of Cipla, as required under the SEBI Listing Regulations.
