DoP Invites Retired Central Govt Officers for Consultant Roles, Apply by Oct 31

New Delhi: The Department of Pharmaceuticals (DoP) under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers has invited applications from retired Central Government employees to render their services as Consultants (Non-Technical Grade-II). The engagement will be purely on a contractual basis, initially for one year, and can be extended further for a period not exceeding five years, depending on the department's requirements.
According to the official circular dated October 7, 2025, a total of two vacancies have been announced, one post for a retired Director/Deputy Secretary/Under Secretary with a legal background and one post for a retired Senior PPS/PPS. The job location for both posts will be Shastri Bhawan, New Delhi – 110001.
The eligibility criteria specify that the applicants must be officers retired from Central Government Departments or PSUs. The age limit for applicants is set at not more than 64 years as on the last date of receipt of applications. The selected candidates will receive a fixed monthly remuneration calculated by deducting the basic pension from the last pay drawn, in addition to TA/DA as per admissibility. The amount of remuneration fixed at the time of appointment will remain unchanged throughout the contract period.
The circular further mentions that consultants will be entitled to 18 days of leave during the one-year engagement period on a pro-rata basis. The working hours will follow the normal office schedule from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, although the consultants may be required to devote additional time as per the exigencies of work.
Interested and eligible candidates are required to send their duly filled applications in the prescribed format, along with all necessary supporting documents, to: The Section Officer (Estt./Admn.), Department of Pharmaceuticals, G-32, Shastri Bhawan, New Delhi – 110001.
