Eris Lifesciences Taps Chirag Mehta as Executive Director for Finance, Global Business
Mumbai: Eris Lifesciences has appointed Chirag Mehta as Executive Director, with the executive set to oversee the company's finance, investor relations and international business.
Mehta will be based at Eris Lifesciences' Mumbai office and will report to the company's Chairman and Managing Director (CMD), Amit Bakshi. His appointment is in a non-statutory executive role.
Mehta brings more than two decades of senior leadership experience across finance, strategy and mergers and acquisitions in the Indian and international pharmaceutical industry.
Prior to joining Eris Lifesciences, Mehta served as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Bharat Serums and Vaccines Ltd. (BSV), a Mankind Group company. He had earlier held the position of Senior Vice President and CFO at Biological E. Ltd., Hyderabad, and served as CFO – International at Cipla Ltd.
Mehta holds an MBA from Grand Valley State University in Michigan, USA.
Commenting on the appointment, Amit Bakshi, CMD, Eris Lifesciences, was quoted as saying by BW Healthcare World, “We are happy to have Chirag with us. He brings a strong base in finance, international business and biotech, which is a good fit for the phase we are entering.”
Mehta's appointment comes as Eris Lifesciences continues to expand its pharmaceutical operations across geographies and therapeutic areas, with his responsibilities spanning key financial and international business functions.
Eris Lifesciences has a portfolio covering therapeutic areas including diabetes, cardiovascular, dermatology, nephrology, neurology, women's health, oncology and critical care.
The company has annual branded formulations revenue of more than Rs 3,000 crore, according to AWACS data cited in the report. Its product portfolio includes oral solids, oral liquids, softgels, ointments, sprays and gels, sterile injectables and biologics, manufactured across six facilities.
Eris markets its prescription products across India through a network of around 5,000 stockists and more than 5 lakh retail pharmacies, according to the report.
The company has recorded 2.6-fold growth in revenue and operating profit over the past five years, with FY26 revenue reaching Rs 3,129 crore. Eris has also invested around Rs 4,000 crore over the last three years to diversify across geographies, technologies and therapeutic areas.
Mehta's appointment is expected to strengthen the company's financial, international and strategic capabilities as Eris continues its expansion across pharmaceutical segments.
