Furnish PTR, MAT Value in respect of oxygen and nitrous oxide: NPPA
New Delhi: Regarding the fixation of ceiling prices for scheduled formulations under revised schedule I (National List of Essential Medicines 2022) of Drug Price Control Orders 2013, the National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA), Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India, has released an office memorandum requesting all the manufacturing and marketing companies to furnish the Price to Retailer (PTR) and Moving Annual Turnover (MAT) in value terms for the month of July 2022, in respect of in respect of Oxygen and Nitrous Oxide.
The list of five formulations includes: oxygen for medicinal uses containing not less than 99.0% v/v of O2, oxygen 93% for medical use, oxygen for medicinal use containing not less than 99.0% v/v of O2 in a cylinder, oxygen 93% for medicinal use in the cylinder, and nitrous oxide for medicinal use containing not less than 98% v/v of N2O.
"The information may be furnished positively within 7 days from the Issue of this O.M. in respect of Oxygen and Nitrous Oxide for taking appropriate action for fixation of ceiling prices pursuant to the issue of Revised Schedule-I of DPCO, 2013." the office memorandum added.
Scheduled formulations are any formulation that is included in the First Schedule of DPCO 2013, whether referred to by generic versions or brand names (mainly products covered under the National List of Essential Medicines are scheduled formulations). In other words, all medicines that are covered by the National List of Essential Medicines, which are notified in Schedule 1, are scheduled formulations.
"Ceiling Price" refers to a price fixed by the government for scheduled formulations in accordance with the provisions of the Drug Price Control Order of 2013. The ceiling price is the most a retailer can charge for a given product (excluding taxes, if any).
Recently, with reference to the fixation of ceiling prices for scheduled formulations under Revised Schedule I (NLEM 2022) of DPCO 2013, the NPPA has asked all the concerned manufactured and marketed companies to furnish the Price of Retailer (PTR) and Moving Annual Turnover (MAT) in value terms for the month of July 2022 in the format mentioned below.
