Glenmark
New Delhi: Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Inc., USA, a subsidiary of Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Limited, has announced the launch of Sugammadex Injection in the United States following approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (USFDA).
The company has launched Sugammadex Injection 200 mg/2 mL (100 mg/mL) and 500 mg/5 mL (100 mg/mL) in single-dose vials. The product is bioequivalent and therapeutically equivalent to the reference listed drug BRIDION (Sugammadex) Injection, 100 mg/mL, marketed by Merck Sharp & Dohme LLC.
According to IQVIA National Sales Perspectives data for the 12-month period ending May 2026, the BRIDION Injection market, including the brand and all available therapeutic equivalents, recorded annual sales of approximately USD 1.6 billion in the United States.
Commenting on the launch, Marc Kikuchi, President & Business Head, North America, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Inc., USA, said, "The launch of Sugammadex Injection represents a significant addition to Glenmark's growing U.S. injectables portfolio and strengthens our presence in the hospital and institutional segment. Achieving a Day 1 launch reflects the agility, preparedness and execution discipline behind our injectable strategy. It also underscores our ability to identify meaningful market opportunities, support greater supply reliability and expand access to high-quality and affordable medicines across the U.S. healthcare system."
The company noted that its Sugammadex Injection is approved only for the indications included in Glenmark's USFDA-approved labeling and will be marketed accordingly.
