NPPA Fixes Retail Prices for 39 New Drug Formulations Including Tenecteplase at Rs 60,238
New Delhi: The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) has fixed the retail prices of 39 new drug formulations under the provisions of the Drugs (Prices Control) Order (DPCO), 2013, covering a wide range of medicines used for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, infections, cancer, glaucoma, HIV, pain management and other conditions.
The price notification, issued by the Department of Pharmaceuticals on July 8, 2026, has been notified under paragraphs 5, 11 and 15 of the DPCO, 2013. The retail prices are exclusive of Goods and Services Tax (GST), wherever applicable.
Among the formulations covered are fixed-dose combinations for hypertension and cardiovascular disorders such as Amlodipine-Telmisartan-Metoprolol Succinate, Telmisartan-Chlorthalidone, Telmisartan-Cilnidipine, Bisoprolol-Telmisartan, Nebivolol-Amlodipine, and Amlodipine-Bisoprolol-Telmisartan.
The notification also includes several anti-diabetic medicines, including combinations containing Dapagliflozin, Empagliflozin, Sitagliptin, Metformin, Glimepiride and Voglibose. NPPA has also fixed retail prices for anti-infective formulations such as Amoxicillin-Clavulanate tablets and dispersible tablets, as well as ophthalmic preparations, including Netarsudil-Latanoprost Ophthalmic Solution and Nepafenac-Moxifloxacin Ophthalmic Solution.
Among the high-value products covered under the notification is Tenecteplase (TNK-tPA) Injection 50 mg, for which the retail price has been fixed at Rs. 60,238.27 per vial. The authority has also notified retail prices for Imatinib Oral Solution, a combination HIV therapy kit containing Darunavir, Ritonavir and Dolutegravir, and Vitamin D3 Oral Solution.

As per the notification, manufacturers of these formulations classified as "new drugs" under paragraph 2(1)(u) of the DPCO, 2013, are required to ensure that the retail price does not exceed the price notified by NPPA.
The authority further clarified that any existing manufacturer launching the same new drug within 12 months of publication of the notification may market the product at a retail price not exceeding the notified price, subject to filing Form-IA on the Integrated Pharmaceutical Database Management System (IPDMS) 2.0 along with supporting documents within one month of launch.
Manufacturers may add GST only if it has actually been paid or is payable to the Government. They are also required to issue revised price lists in Form-V from the date of notification and submit them to NPPA through IPDMS, while providing copies to the respective State Drug Controllers and dealers.
NPPA also reiterated that retailers and dealers must prominently display the price lists provided by manufacturers. Any violation of the notified retail prices would attract recovery of the overcharged amount along with applicable interest under the provisions of the DPCO, 2013, read with the Essential Commodities Act, 1955.
