Mumbai: Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Limited has informed stock exchanges about the arrest of its Independent Director, Gautam Doshi, while clarifying that the development is unrelated to the company's business operations and is not expected to affect its functioning or governance processes.
The disclosure was made by the pharmaceutical major under Regulation 30 of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements Regulations, 2015. In its regulatory filing, the company stated that it had received information regarding the arrest of Doshi and was notifying investors and stock exchanges in compliance with applicable disclosure requirements.
Sun Pharma emphasized that the matter does not pertain to the company, its operations, management, or business activities. The company further stated that it does not foresee any impact on its day-to-day operations, financial performance, or the functioning of its Board of Directors as a result of the development.
Gautam Doshi serves as an Independent Director on the board of Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Limited and is also associated with certain other companies in a non-executive capacity. As an Independent Director, he is not involved in the day-to-day management or executive operations of the company.
The company stated that it would continue to monitor the situation and assess any further developments, if necessary. Sun Pharma also indicated that appropriate steps would be taken depending on future developments relating to the matter.
