Telangana: Medical shop seized, licence cancelled for illegal sale of Schedule H1 drugs

On October 20, based on the credible information, EAGLE FORCE (TGANB) and Nalgonda Police conducted vehicle checking near Munugode Road, Nalgonda and apprehended Md. Zabinulla, S/o Hafeezulla, aged 35 years, R/o Nalgonda, Dist., who was illegally carrying narcotic tablets on a twowheeler.

Upon interrogation, he revealed that he had become addicted to Spasmo-Proxyvon Plus tablets and had been illegally purchasing and reselling them for the past three months. He procured the tablets from Venkata Ramana Medical Store, Thorrur (Mahabubabad District) without a valid doctor’s prescription, in violation of the NDPS Act and Drug Control Rules. He used to purchase each strip (8 tablets) for ₹100 and sell the same to local consumers at ₹200 per strip, thereby earning illegal profit.

Several local consumers, including youth and working individuals, were found to be regularly purchasing and abusing these tablets for intoxication.

Their statements revealed growing dependence on such opioid-based drugs, highlighting the alarming spread of pharmaceutical drug abuse.

Further investigation revealed that Venkata Ramana Medical Store, owned by Daram Krishna Sai, was illegally selling Schedule H1 drugs (Spasmo-Proxyvon Plus and Tramadol) without obtaining valid prescriptions or maintaining statutory records.

The Drug Inspector inspected and seized the medical shop, along with relevant records and stock, under the supervision of EAGLE FORCE and Nalgonda Police. The licence of the Medical Shop was cancelled.

The seized stock include 2,400 Spasmo-Proxyvon Plus Tablets, 345 Tramadol Ultra King Tablets, two mobile phones and one motorcycle.
